Your generous donation will fund our mission.
Seventy X Seven is a division of International Harvest Christian Fellowship Church, organized to assist Chaplains throughout Texas restore lives and families through the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
"If my people want to know where they are needed, tell them they are needed in the streets, the hospitals, the missions, and prisons. When they come there, they will find me." (Matt. 25:36)
The incarcerated need regeneration. Jesus has commissioned His followers to reach beyond the barbed wire fences and steel bars to touch the lives of men and women bound by the shackles of sin. We are called to help them to understand their identity as Sons and Daughters of God, as fellow heirs. The mandate for prison ministry is clear in God's Word, both by scripture and example. It is our goal to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that the inmates will embrace it and receive Christ as their Savior; to share the unconditional love of God; and to disciple new believers.
There are currently 154,479 persons in prison in the State of Texas. Texas has an incarceration rate of 840 for every 100,000 people (including prisons, jails, immigration detention, and juvenile justice facilities), meaning that it locks up a higher percentage of its people than any democracy on earth. Thirty-two percent of men in prison have two or more children. Out of every ten men imprisoned, seven will have children that also end up in the system.
Nationally, 7.3 million children have at least one parent in jail or prison. Sadly, 70 percent of these kids are doomed to follow in the same footsteps as their parents.

Because of programs like Seventy X Seven we have been able to reduce the rate of reoffenders in the State of Texas. Currently, approximately 21.4 percent of prisoners released from prison are returned.
There is much work to be done. Our rehabilitation centers are also full. Texas is one of the top ten states for cocaine use. Despite attempts, the Department of Corrections has been unable to keep drugs out of the prison system.
TO MAKE A TRUE CHANGE, WE MUST PROVIDE CHANGE WITHIN AND CHANGE HEARTS!
